Upcoming Workdays and Events in/for Vernon Park

The first daffodils have put up their green spikes.  We’re looking
forward to a great year of gardening and special events.  Please join
us soon at one of these events:

1) Wednesday, March 6 from 1:00 – 3:00 pm:
Join students from Crefeld School, along with Dave Bower, Volunteer
Coordinator, Philadelphia Parks & Recreation.  Do stop by to help
clean up and thank the students – it’s great to have them coming.

2) Friday, March 8 from 5:30 – 7:30 pm:
Plan the Count Down to Germantown Day at a program meeting at the Nile
Café, 6008 Germantown Avenue.  Count Down Day will be April 6.

3) Monday, March 11 from 6:00 – 7:30 pm:
Regular Meeting of the Friends of Vernon Park, at the Center in the
Park.  Keeping it all together and hearing updates from Philadelphia
Parks and Recreation planning for the coming year and how we can join

4) Wednesday, March 13 from 10:00 am – noon:
Gardening in the rain garden.  Clearing out the water channels and
garden of leaves and seeing all the new growth.  If you haven’t been
involved in a rain garden before come early at 9:50 am to hear about
it and how it fits into storm water mitigation and making the entryway
to Center in the Park beautiful.

If everyone participates in one event, we’ll be in great shape!
