  • Next FOVP open meeting: Monday, January 2023

    Friends of Vernon Park holds open meetings on each month from 6-7 p.m on third Mondaysย (shift from third Thursdays in January 2023). For details, please subscribe to our mailing list. All are welcome! During the cold months and in inclement weather, we meet virtually via Zoom. In the warmer months, we meet in-person in the park (byo blanket or chair). Email info@friendsofvernonpark.org with any questions.

    We welcome contributions of time, energy, talent, and funds to support cleaning, greening and community programming. All financial contributions go directly into stewardship of Vernon Park. Friends of Vernon Park is a registered 501C3 Organization, and all donations are tax-deductible.

On Sunday, Dec. 11, Positive Movement Drumline (@whourockinwit) will bring the vibes to Vernon Park (5800 Germantown Ave). The performance is part of Peace & Love in Germantown, hosted by @friendsofvernonpark. This interfaith non-denominational family-friendly event includes a performance by the famous drumline and tree decorating of 'Carrieโ€™s tree', the little blue spruce in the park by the Peace Pole. The event is from 1-3PM, with the drumline going down from 1:30-2PM. All are welcome! ๐Ÿฅโ˜ฎ๏ธ๐Ÿฅ ๐Ÿ’Ÿ This Sunday @whourockinwit Positive Movement Drumline will bring the vibes to Vernon Park 1:30-2pm as part of ::Peace & Love in Germantown:: interfaith/non-denominational tree decorating of Carrieโ€™s tree, the little blue spruce in the park by the Peace Pole. Repost via @germantowncdc: Center in the Park (CIP) is a vibrant and unique senior center, nestled inside beautiful Vernon Park in the old Germantown Library building (5818 Germantown Ave). On Saturday, Dec. 3, 11AM-3PM, @centerinthepark will host their Winter Festival, an all ages community event. This yearโ€™s fest is indoors - please mask - and will include a variety of vendors. @manyhandscoffeeco will be there to get you properly caffeinated.
